Service Overview
The Light Forklift driving license course is designed to prepare students for the RTA road Test and obtain a UAE driving license under category 7. Upon successful completion of the couse and passing tha RTA Road Test, studetns will be licensed to operate light forklifts.
The course curriculam uncludes an introduction to different type of forklifts, detailed lesson on engine and load capacity, types of levers and their controls operating in different working areas and weather conditions, reducing maintenance expenses, increasing efficiency, minimizing accidents and improving operationg skills. Load control is a key focus of the course with students learning how to load various materials, adjust angles and more.
Eligibility
- Citizens and residents of UAE, who are above the legal age and medically fit, are eligible to apply for this service.
- Age requirement: 20 years and above
- Original Emirates ID
- Copy of the tenancy agreement approved by ejari or copy of the Title Deed as a proof of residence. OR,
Copy of the company's trade licence (Dubai branch and the branch that issued the residency). Letter from the company certifying that the customer works in Dubai
- Please note, the customer must not have a driving licence from another emirate. If available, the customer will have to transfer his license to Dubai.
- Copy of the valid passport
- Copy of the valid Marsoom
- The customer must be present in person.
- The customer must be medically fit.
- The customer agrees to the terms and conditions when signing the training agreement and submitting the application through the DLS system.
- In case your RTA file is inactive for 6 months, it would be automatically expired and can be renewed upon request.
- The customer must pass all the required tests to obtain the UAE driving licence.
- Once the customer passes the road test, he receives a temporary licence valid for 7 days through email.
- The customer must pass the Eye test according to the requested category accredited by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and authorised by RTA.

Service Overview
The Light Forklift driving license course prepares the students for the RTA Road Test and enables them to get the UAE Driving License No. 7. Students who complete this course and pass the RTA Road Tests are licensed to drive light forklifts. The minimum age requirement for light forklift course is 20 years.
The course offers an introduction to different types of forklifts. Detailed lessons on engine and loading capacity, the different types of levers along with their controls, how to operate in different working areas and in various weather conditions, focus on how to reduce maintenance expenses, increase efficiency, reduce accidents and improve operating skills, form part of the course. Students are taught in detail about load control and how to load various kinds of materials: at which angle will the load be adjustable, etc.
Light Forklifts criterion- Weight is less than 7.5 tons.
Students must attend 6 theory lectures before booking the RTA theory test. The lectures can be attended online in English, Urdu or Arabic.

How to avail the RIS service?
As per RTA guidelines, students have to submit an application for appointing an interpreter in the preferred language at the time of opening RTA file and pay the applicable fees. This service cannot be added at a later stage while booking the Road Test.
Fees: An additional fee of AED 435 is applicable besides the RTA knowledge test fees.
Practical Lessons
Practical Training is the fourth and most vital element of your training process, which consists of practical training sessions conducted by approved instructors.
Key Points:
- In practical lessons you will be taught by our instructors about running a machine (vehicle), covering all the aspects to be examined by RTA examiners for the required tests.
On Road Assessment Test
On Road Assessment test is the 5th step in your learning process, this test determines whether a student is eligible to appear for the Final road test or not.
Key Points:
- Assessment test is taken by DriveDubai examiners.
- In order to appear for the assessment test a student must attend the required number of classes deferring from course to course.
- After passing the assessment test student will advance the final test
Final Test
- Final Test will be taken by RTA examiners
In order to appear for Final Test the following has to be kept under consideration
- All fee paid
- All classes taken
- All previous test passed
- Learning permit must be valid
- RTA file must be valid
- Driving License will be issued upon passing the road test on the same day.
- Student must carry their original Emirates ID at the time of license issuance.
